Apple fritters without pieces of apple. I don’t want a donut that tastes vaguely like apple. I want actual apple in my fried and frosted pastry.

Had about the best fritter ever from a bakery north of Indy last weekend. Nice big chunks and the thing was huge. Wish I had one now.

I agree on the apple fritters needing chunks of apple. But on the apple-flavored donut side, a few years back I got an apple-spice-sour cream cake donut from King Soopers (Kroger) that was easily one of the best donuts I’ve ever had. I haven’t been able to find them since, and now I’m a hollow shell of a man.
